New Ambassador Requests

Science Clubs

St Nicholas Primary School in Broxburn and Drumbowie Primary School in Falkirk have requested an Ambassador to assist them with the running of their Science Clubs.

Speed Networking Event

Craigmount High School in Edinburgh will be running a speed networking event on the provisional date of 13 March for its S2 pupils. Ambassadors from all STEM backgrounds are requested to take part to answer questions on and discuss their career choice with the pupils. Approximately 25 Ambassadors are required for the event which will be held in the morning.

Car Project

Bankton Primary School in Livingston are embarking on a 'car project'. A group of 10 pupils will be building a 'car kit' alongside the WLC staff, the process will be filmed for a documentary. They need the help of an Engineer for the project. The dates are as follows;
  • 23rd and 30th January
  • 6th and 27th February
  • 5th, 13th, 19th and 26th March
  • 16th, 23rd and 30th April
The plan is to complete the project and drive the car on the 30th April. Any help from Engineering Ambassadors would be greatly appreciated.

STEM Challenge 9

Broxburn Academy in West Lothian and Knox Academy in Haddington are taking part in STEM Challenge 9 and require the assistance of Ambassadors to help the pupils design a device to light the Paralympic flame. More information on the Challenge can be found here.

Eco Science Project

Murrayburn Primary School in Edinburgh require the assistance of an Ambassador for the Eco Science Project they will be running. The aim of the project is for the pupils to create a model of a garden hut that demonstrates eco-friendly technology vis wind and solar power etc. The layout of the project hasn't been decided yet but the school are flexible and would appreciate any support given.

Royal Society Grant - Science or Engineering Ambassador Required

Madras College in Fife are applying for a Royal Society Grant and require an Ambassador from a Science or Engineering background to proceed with the application.

Science and Technology Week

Alva Primary School have requested the assistance of an Ambassador for their Science and Technology Week that will run from the 26th to 31st March. The school are looking for STEM Ambassadors to visit and speak to the pupils. Areas of particular interest are: water, energy, living things, the body, weather and materials.

Science Ambassadors Required

Preston Street Primary School in Edinburgh requires the assistance of Ambassadors from a Science background for a p4/5 project. The Ambassador will help him with some basic Science crossing into Technology.

Denny Cluster Renewables Project

The Denny Cluster Renewables Project will run from the 21st to 28th of February for primary 7 pupils. STEM Ambassadors are required to assist in the running of workstations demonstrating wind turbines, solar panels, solar water heaters ans hydrogen fuel cars.

STEM Ambassadors required to help at the Dunbar Science Festival

The Dunbar Science Festival will be running on the 10th and 11th of March this year. STEM Ambassadors are required to assist in demonstrations etc. For more information please visit the Dunbar Science Festival website.

Renewable Energy Project

Carmondean Primary School in West Lothian will be taking part in the Renewable Energy Project in relation to the 2012 Junior Saltire Prize Awards. The challenge requires pupils to design and build a simple wave powered generator. The pupils require the assistance of Ambassadors for the project. Their design blueprint must be submitted by the end of February.

Technology Ambassador Required

Oakwood School in Falkirk are requesting the help of an Ambassador. S2 teacher would like an Ambassador to assist in activities that will enhance the teaching and learning of technology.

Science Roadshow Help

Our Lady's Primary School in West Lothian are requesting an Ambassador to help them prepare and help host a Science Roadshow.

Saltoun Primary School request Ambassador to help with National Science Week

Saltoun Primary School in East Lothian are looking to do something for National Science Week around the theme of 'Our World in Motion'. The teacher, Pamela Currie, is looking for help from STEM Ambassadors to organise something and is receptive and flexible to all suggestions of what can be done within the school.

Air and Water Topic - Ambassador Help Needed

The P5 class at Moray Primary School in Falkirk would like an Ambassador to help them with their Air and Water Science Topic. The teacher is looking for help with experiment ideas or an Ambassador to come in and demonstrate to the class.
