The final tournament of the Scottish leg of the worldwide FLL Challenge (launched early September 2010) is being hosted in Edinburgh University School of Informatics in early December.
The teams must build and program a robot to carry out certain tasks, and must carry out a research project around the annual theme. They get about 10 weeks to do all this work before coming together to compete at their local tournament.
The theme of FLL this year is "Where medicine meets engineering" - See http://firsthandtechnology.org.uk/ for the UK page and http://www.firstlegoleague.org/ for the world page.
