Young Engineers Technology K'nex Cluster Challenge 2009 Global Science is pleased to invite your school to take part in this year's Young Engineers K'Nex Cluster Challenge. This annual competition is a chance for pupils to compete at various levels, from within their own school, right up to the grand UK Final in London.

Salters' Festivals of Chemistry 2010 2010 looks like it's going to be another bumper year for the Salters' Institute! Preparations for the Salters' Festivals of Chemistry and Salters' Chemistry Camps have already begun with 51 Festivals due to take place between March and June and 16 Camps to be held between June and August.

INEOS lecture provides inspiration Students from six local high schools recently attended the inaugural annual INEOS lecture held in the site's exhibition centre in partnership with Global Science. Timed to coincide with the Royal Society of Chemistry's Chemistry Week, the event was a mixture of lectures and hands-on workshops designed to inspire and enthuse the S5/6 pupils.

Lab in the Lorry - Science Ambassadors Required Lab in the Lorry will be visiting Alloa Academy on the 16th, 17th and 18th November and Armadale Academy on the 23rd, 24th and 25th November. Science Ambassadors are required to attend both of these visits.

East and West Ambassador Celebration Event Over 250 people attended the event and a large number of E&E (Enhancement and Engagement) providers Attended, BA, IOP, ASE, BGS, ICE and many more. A number of Companies were present and hosted workshops.

Peebles Science Festival Peebles schools had a great two days of Science and Technology at the Eastgate Theatre on 15th & 16th June. Day one was for early Years pupils P1-P3 and they enjoyed w/shops from Glasgow Science Centre, Sniff, Look, Listen, Generation Science, Light Explorers, & Becky's Animates. K'Nex Challenge & Moon phases were also popular.

Scottish Science Baccalaureate 12th June was a big date for 69 S5 pupils from 13 Secondary schools in Forth Valley and West Lothian. Cabinet Secretary Fiona Hyslop officiated at the event in Forth Valley College. Global Science were requested to provide Materials & Memory sticks for the pupils and BP provided mini cameras.

Ambassador Recruitment Ambassadors are still signing up at three venues throughout the East, Edinburgh, Dunfermline, and Falkirk. The last two Edinburgh sessions saw 21 ambassadors sign up. Ambassadors assisted with the Scrapyard Scramble in Edinburgh, Firrhill High School S5 team building Day, St Mungo's High School P7 induction day. Sacred Heart Primary School, World of Work Day.

Grangemouth Science Festival Great programme this year with some 1,900 P7 pupils taking part and supported by Ineos, Falkirk Council and Ambassadors. This 12 day event has grown in popularity and the intention is to expand it next year thanks to Scottish Government support.
