Global Science with the support of the Scottish Government piloted the Speed Networking Event in Falkirk in June 2011 and are now replicating this across the region.
Fifth year pupils have face-to-face chats with industry based experts who can give lots of information on career paths and actual routes into employment.
The day is run in such a way that the pupils have to ask specific questions to try to guess what the actual profession of the expert is!
The day was a great success with positive feedback from both the pupils and Ambassadors. Both pupils and Ambassadors thought the speed networking concept was original and allowed the pupils to experience a more useful and personal careers event with real information on routes into employment.
As this was a pilot there was feedback and suggestions - all of which have been incorporated into the current model being offered to schools in your area.
