Make Your
Own Fake Blood!

Blood isn’t always red. Spiders have blue blood and some insects have green blood! The reason for this is that humans have haemoglobin making their blood red. Spiders, arthropods and possibly even aliens have hemocyanin making their blood blue or green.

Now make your own alien blood to scare your friends!

Oozy Pumpkins

Hydrogen Peroxide has the formula H2O2, having just one more oxygen atom than water, H2O. Hydrogen Peroxide is always breaking down to give water and oxygen gas but it happens very slowly!

In this experiment we are going to break the H2O2 down really, really quickly which means the oxygen will be produced really really quickly! Add some washing up liquid and food colouring and the effect is very dramatic!

Snake Charming
on Halloween

If you harvest some static energy you will be able to amaze your friends by controlling a haunted paper snake.

All atoms are neutral but when some objects rub together a static charge can build up. In this snake charming experiment after the pen has been rubbed against wool it becomes negatively charged. As the foil plate attracts the extra electrons in the pen it means the tissue is attracted to the pen and the electrons flow towards the foil plate
